This is a stainless Steel box that you can mount over the ignitor and thermocouple on your fire pit to keep glass out and to keep wind from blowing out the pilot. This will keep the glass out and make sure the igniter and thermocouple are not covered up.
If you have a fire pit and you use the glass and your fire pit will not ignite, or will light, then go out, it is because the glass is touching the igniter and thermocouple. Put this on and it keeps the glass out.
